We are currently in the process of seeking a new minister here at Ottawa Presbyterian Church. 

After a brief period of varying pulpit supply Sundays following the departure of our previous full-time minister in December 2020, we contracted with CRE Lance Wiesmann who served from April 2021 through June 2023.  We are grateful for his service here; likewise, we acknowledge that it is time for us to move forward in faith.

Our church’s PNC (Pastor Nominating Committee) is actively working along with the Presbytery’s Committee on Leadership to seek new leadership for our congregation.  The information they have compiled is listed with the PCUSA on the appropriate website portals.

 

Other Church leaders
In every Presbyterian church, there is a group called the “Session” which is composed of “elders.”  Together with the pastor, this group oversees all church programs and activities.  OPC’s Session has six elders, with each elder serving a three-year term.  Every year, two new elders are chosen by the congregation to replace those elders whose terms are completed.  At this point, in the absence of a pastor, the meetings of Session are overseen by a member or designee of the Presbytery’s Committee on Leadership.

Our church secretary is Andrea Morman (secretary@ottawapresby.org).  She began her work in early December, 2010. 

 

Beth Myers is our organist and Chas Myers is our choir director.  Lynne Hirzel is our financial secretary (finsec@ottawapresby.org) and Beth Myers is our treasurer (treasurer@ottawapresby.org).   Also serving us is Dave Hanneman (custodian).  Halle Schroeder is our child care provider during worship services.
